- Top 3 finishers in each division earns a bid to AAU West Coast Junior Olympics Beach Volleyball – Hermosa Beach, CA – Late July 2016
4/27/16 Update: Current caps for age divisions are as follows – Girls 18U – 10 teams, Girls 16U – 25 teams, Girls 14U – 15 teams (12U teams can play up in 14U). If a division is not listed anymore, it’s full or was dropped due to registration trends. To be put on a wait-list, email Mark at mark@southernsandvolleyball.org .
Specific Event Notes:
- Divisions: Girls 18U, 16U, 14U, 12U & Boys 18U , 14U (subject to interest).
- Check-in: 8AM. Competition approx. 8:30AM-4PM
- Format: Pool play followed by playoffs (Gold and Silver playoffs within an age group possible based on numbers). 3rd place matches in Gold will be contested to determine AAU West JO bids.
- Locations: 2 sites may be used based on participation numbers. Final location assignments for divisions will be made a couple days prior to event. Locations are within 7 minutes drive of each other.
- Southern Sand Volleyball Complex (10 courts) – 6175 Old Jenks Rd, Apex, NC 27523
- Green Hope Elementary School Park (4 courts) – 2750 Louis Stephens Dr, Cary, NC 27519
- Need accommodations? We have a special rate available at 2 nearby Marriott chain hotels (Courtyard and Residence Inn). Use the following links to get the special code automatically applied:
- Cost: $50/team until April 17th. $60/team April 18th-28th
- Awards to top 2 teams (minimum of 4 teams) or top 3 teams (minimum of 8 teams) in each division.
- Kona-Ice will be on site serving snow cones from Noon-2PM.
- Registration ends on April 29th at Noon. If looking to get in after online registration ends, send an email to Mark who will confirm if the team can be fit in.
General Notes:
- If signing up multiple teams, please register and pay for each team separately. The system is setup to only handle a single team registration at a time.
- Since bids are up for grabs, all teams within same age group will be combined for pool play. Depending on final field and pool sizes, top teams from each pool will advance to a championships playoff bracket. Remaining teams will compete in consolation bracket.
- This event is AAU sanctioned and requires you enter a membership number as part of registration. If you are not a member, join online here.
