- Below is the 2024 Southern Sand Volleyball Adult Tournaments Schedule (events are added once confirmed), featuring the following events:
Standard Tournament Events
- Saturday, March 30: Adults Coed 2s/4s Tournament Series Event #1 – Featuring Upper (AA) and Lower (A) Divisions in Coed 2s and Coed 4s formats. AVP America membership required. REGISTER HERE.
- Saturday, April 13: NC State Club Beach Volleyball Spring Fundraiser Event – Featuring Men’s and Women’s 2s – AA and A division in each. REGISTER HERE.
- Saturday, May 18: Adult Coed 2s/4s Tournament Series Event #2. Featuring Upper (AA) and Lower (A) Divisions in Coed 2s and Coed 4s formats. AVP America membership required. REGISTER HERE
- Saturday, Sept 28: NC State Club Beach Volleyball Fall Fundraiser Event – Featuring Men’s and Women’s 2s – AA and A division in each. REGISTER HERE.
- Saturday, Oct 5: Annual Dig for Duke charity 2s event with proceeds going to Duke’s Children Hospital. No memberships required. REGISTER HERE
Masters Tournaments (Typically for players 35 or older)

Adult/Junior Series.
- May be offered separately or combined with one of the above events.
- Standard Coed 2s and Reserve-Coed on a Women’s net may be offered
- Any combination of male and female players is supported.
- Males 15 or older will have to abide by the “10 ft attack rule” whereby they can only jump for an attack if taking off from behind the 10 ft line (marked by rope in the sand).
- Teams with 2 females must designate 1 player as abiding to the “10 ft attack rule”.
- Age cutoffs for Juniors based on USAV outdoor age division cutoffs.
Registration Fees (varies with event):
- Standard – typically $50-60 for 2s team, $100-$120 for 4s team
- Late – Additional charge may apply depending on the event when a week or less prior to the event
Divisions (varies with event):
- Open – Semi-professional/Professional Division. This division is intended for those looking for the highest level of play available. Cash or prizes offered to top player/team (minimum of 4 players/teams) or top 2 (minimum of 6 players/teams)
- Upper/AA – Advanced level athlete. This division is intended for those with multiple years of playing experience, plays regularly (at least during certain times of the year), but not looking for semi-pro/pro-level competition. Cash or prizes offered to top player/team (minimum of 4 players/teams) or top 2 (minimum of 6 players/teams)
- Lower/A – Intermediate level athlete. This division is for those with a year or more of playing experience and play somewhat regularly. Prizes for first place team in each gender
- Rec/BB – Beginner level athlete. This division is for those that are generally pretty new to the sport, perhaps playing in a tournament for the first time or considers themselves a rec player primarily. Prizes for first place team in each gender
